There are two pending route jurisdiction transfer requests (RJTs) before the Transportation Commission. Details on each are outlined below.
City of Snoqualmie RJT:
City of Snoqualmie is requesting a transfer of the Snoqualmie Parkway, between the terminus of SR 18 at I-90 and SR 202/Railroad Avenue, to the State of Washington.

How will this change impact the general public?
The agency owning, operating and maintaining the facility will change. The city street will become a state highway.
City of Ridgefield RJT:
The City of Ridgefield is requesting a transfer of SR 501, within city limits known as “Pioneer Street” from the State of Washington to the City of Ridgefield.

The agency owning, operating, and maintaining the facility will change. The state highway will become a city street.
Next steps for both RJTs
- May – July: Public input on preliminary findings is gathered from interested parties.
- August – September: Possible public hearing held.
- September – December: Transportation Commission issues final determination and recommendation, and drafts a bill for the upcoming legislative session.
