Topics to be discussed at the meeting include:

  • Roadway design and crash prevention: WSDOT will share the work it’s doing to reduce fatal and serious injury crashes on roads through the “Safe Systems Approach,” which looks at how to design roadways that are safer for all users.
  • Condition of the state’s bridges: Commissioners will hear an update on the maintenance and preservation needs of bridges at the local and state level.
  • Financial updates on toll facilities: Commissioners will hear the results of a financial analysis on possible changes to toll rates and policies on the Interstate 405/State Route 167 express toll lanes. They’ll also get an update on finances for the SR 520 bridge and SR 99 tunnel.
