At the direction of the Legislature, the Commission is leading a study of potential low-income tolling program options for the I-405/SR 167 Express Toll Lanes corridor. The project team will present proposed low-income toll program options recommended for further study.

Joint Transportation Committee Needs Assessment

The Commission will be briefed on the Joint Transportation Committee’s (JTC) report to the Legislature on a plan for funding transportation programs, projects, and services over the next ten years including a timeline for legislative action on funding the identified transportation system needs shortfall.

Tolling Facility Financial Update

The Commission will receive financial updates on toll facilities, including financial model updates on the SR 520 Bridge and SR 99 Tunnel from the Office of the State Treasurer (OST), and an update on the Tacoma Narrows Bridge (TNB) loan assessment results.

Washington State Department of Transportation Tolling Financial Update
Presenter: Ed Barry, Director, Toll Division, Washington State Department of Transportation
The Commission will receive an overview from WSDOT on the changes to toll facility and toll system shared costs to be assumed in WSDOT’s upcoming updates for the toll facilities in February. In addition, WSDOT will provide a draft SR 520 and SR 99 Toll Rate setting work plan and timeline.

Most trips involve city streets and county roads, including significant freight movement which may begin and end in ports. Public transportation is the primary travel mode for many. Local transportation partners will highlight their fiscal and policy priorities for the 2021 Legislative Session.
