Model Uniform Act on Automated Vehicle Operation

The Uniform Law Commission has created a model act for states to consider enacting regarding the operation of automated vehicles.
A member of the drafting team will explain the purpose of the draft act and what it addresses.

Local Transportation Partners: A Look Ahead at 2020 Legislative Priorities

Most trips involve city streets and county roads, including significant freight movement which may begin and end in ports. Public transportation is the primary travel mode for many. Local transportation partners will highlight their fiscal and policy priorities for the 2020 legislative session.

Update on Revenue Performance of Tolled Facilities

The Tolling Division will brief the Commission on the performance of current and projected tolling revenue to meet financial requirements for the state’s tolled facilities.

2020 Tacoma Narrows Bridge Loan Report

Presenter: Carl See, Senior Financial Analyst, Washington State Transportation
Commission

Commission staff will present the Commission’s 2020 TNB Loan report to the Legislature. The report provides an update on the current status of the Legislative TNB Loan plan. The plan was put in place to stabilize toll rates on the TNB over the remaining 10 years of debt repayment. Ensuring adequate loan funding will result in the avoidance of a toll rate increase for the Tacoma Narrows Bridge this year.

Transit Integration Report

Presenter: Gil Cerise, Transportation Planning Program Manager, Puget Sound Regional Council

Nine transit agencies in the Puget Sound Region coordinate to provide multi-modal connections consistent with the Puget Sound Regional Council’s Regional Transportation Plan. This Report fulfills a legislative requirement to report on transit system coordination and lays out how the transit system will expand significantly over the next several years.

Update on Commercial Aviation Coordinating Commission

Presenter: David Fleckenstein, Director, Aviation Division, Washington
State Department of Transportation

The Legislature has created a Commercial Aviation Coordinating Commission to develop recommendations to meet Washington State’s critical aviation system capacity needs. In addition to recommending a new primary commercial aviation facility, the Coordinating Commission will recommend additional ways to accommodate capacity needs at other facilities. The WSDOT Aviation Division, which staffs and chairs this effort, will brief the Commission on the group’s work and progress to date.
