Recent Actions

  • Bridge Naming Request: The Commission took action on the requested bridge naming on April 22, 2026 adopting Resolution No. 756 designating the US 395/North Spokane Corridor Bridge above Wandermere Road the Lieutenant/Paramedic Cody Scott Traber Memorial Bridge.
  • Revised Toll Setting Process: The Transportation Commission revised its toll setting process per legislative action.
  • Extending Martin Luther King Jr. Way: The Commission took action at its meeting on December 10th, 2025 adopting Resolution No. 755 extending the current Martin Luther King Jr. Way naming from South Seattle down to Kent, WA.
  • Bridge Naming Request: The Legislature passed HJM 4002 requesting the Commission name the Interstate 90 bridge over the Columbia River near Vantage the “Medal of Honor Bridge.” The Commission took action on the requested bridge naming on September 17, 2025 adopting Resolution No. 754.
  • Washington Transportation Plan (WTP) Update: The Commission has released the final plan: Vision 2050.
  • 2025 Ferry Fare Setting: The Commission has set ferry fares for the 2025-2027 biennium, which will take effect on October 1, 2025.
  • Toll Rate Exemption Changes: As directed by the Legislature, beginning October 1, 2025 toll exemptions for publicly owned and privately operated transit buses, vans, and ride share vehicles will no longer be offered on tolled bridges.
  • SR 509 & SR 167 Expressway Toll Rate Setting: The Commission has set rates and policies for the new Expressways.
  • SR 99 Tunnel Planned 3% Toll Rate Increase: On May 13, 2025, the Commission approved a 3% toll rate increase on the SR 99 tunnel, which took effect on July 1, 2025.
