Chair Dan O'Neal today announced the appointment of Reema
Griffith as administrator for the Washington State Transportation
Commission. In her role as administrator, Griffith
will assist the Commission in formulating its position
and initiatives on matters of transportation investment,
planning and policy; and serve as the Commission's liaison
with WSDOT, other state agencies, the legislature and
local governments. "Reema has extensive knowledge and experience in legislative,
policy, and transportation issues," said Chair O'Neal. "Her
research and policy analyst background teamed with insight
into the political process is highly desirable in this
important role. These qualifications are
vitally important to the Transportation Commission as
we move forward with our new and expanded responsibilities." Griffith was most recently the executive policy analyst
for the Washington State Department of Licensing where
she was responsible for advising the Director and Deputy

to that, Griffith held the senior policy analyst and
fiscal analyst positions with the House and Senate Transportation.
Her responsibilities included researching, analyzing
and drafting legislation on transportation policy matters,
as well as serving as subject matter expert on an array
of transportation policy topics. In this position
she also served as a fiscal analyst to the House and
Senate Transportation Committees.
The Washington State Transportation Commission is an independent
state agency whose seven
citizen members are appointed
by the Governor and confirmed by the Senate. The
Commission is responsible for developing a statewide transportation
plan, adopting a comprehensive 10-year transportation investment
plan; serves as the state's tolling authority, and has
oversight for the Washington
State Department of Transportation.
