Regional Priority Projects

The Commission was directed in the 2010 Transportation Budget (ESSB 6381) (pdf 1.03 mb) to review regional prioritized projects as part of its development of the Washington Transportation Plan.

The budget proviso reads: "(8) As part of its development of the statewide transportation plan, the Commission shall review prioritized projects, including preservation and maintenance projects, from regional transportation and metropolitan planning organizations to identify statewide transportation needs.  The review should include a brief description and status of each project along with the funding required and associated time-line from start to completion.  The Commission shall submit the review, along with recommendations, to the house of representatives and senate transportation committees by January 2011."

To implement this mandate, the Commission sent out the following information to all RTPO's and MPO's statewide.  Project information will be submitted to the Commission by October 2010:

  • June 25, 2010 Instruction Memo (pdf 1.12 mb)
  • July 20, 2010 Addendum Instruction Memo (pdf 6.11 kb)
